This is the family site for the decendants of Christopher Columbus Edinburgh. Christopher C. had a large family and while several of the lines from this pioneer Texan have been researched, it is by no means complete.

Please register! Site registrations are screened so family members can have access to private features of the site, including a family tree (to be added).

reunion et al

  View Printable Version

howdy... been thinking... Since MDE is coming in, possibly around the first week of May, last of April, maybe we should just get together at the Falba Homecoming on May 7. This year is the 45 anniv. of Falba in the modern era and we are having a BBQ dinner. I really have misgivings about changing the date for our family reunion to accomodate different individuals situations. even though it is not carved in stone, I have always thought that continuity and reliability should be a guiding factor. Falba has been the first Sunday in May for a long, long time and it is set in people's minds. I would hope that the first Saturday in June would be set aside for all of our kin so that in time it would be second nature that that date is "Reunion Day" Some years we won't make it, like this year, and some years others won't make it. But if we set it down for being the same day each year, with the only exception being conflict with Easter Sat., which may occur only occasionally, I believe that would be a good thing. If we DO get together at Falba (re MDE) that doesn't preclude still having the reunion albeit a limited one on the first Sat of June. Your comments???

Annual Reunion

  View Printable Version

The families of the offspring of Louis Rufus and Della Henderson Edinburgh, and Henry Crow and Rose Francis Edinburgh will celebrate their annual Edinburgh Reunion on Saturday, 4 Jun 2005. We will meet at Huntsville State Park at around 9:00 a.m. or whenever everyone can come. The park is undergoing renovation and I do not know for sure whether we will be able to use it on the above date. Will keep you informed. As usual the rain date is the following Saturday. Be sure to bring your cameras, recorders or whatever. Since we are not doing Genfair this year, we might spend some time on family tree. If anyone wants to participate in volleyball, badmintion, or any other sport, great.

confederate memorial day

  View Printable Version

General NewsThis year, on April 23, Old Waverly Cemetery will be the site of Walker County's annual memorial ceremony for those Confederate Veterans buried there. Grandma Sarah Jordy Edinburgh was the daughter of Lewis J. Jordy, who was in the 20th Texas Infantry, atationed at Galveston during the War for Southern Independence. He came home to Walker County and lived at Falba until he died in 1915. We are also collateral descendants of Warren B. and Sam H. who never returned from that war. There are several more ties to the Confederacy than I can list here. But these ancestors of ours fought honorably for a cause in which they (and I) believe. For more info. please contact me. Thanks. w.e.
